She was dressed in a string bikini, (if you want to call that dressed) the actress was very defiant proclaiming her age in both Spanish and English.  She said “Yes, tomorrow I’m 53, So!?” or “Si, mañana cumplo 53. Y!?”

The Bandidas star also reflected on growing older in Hollywood with InStyle Magazine.  She said that in America, actresses were told they expired at 30 and that’s why she was scared.  But now, she doesn’t care about getting older.  She said when she turned 40 and then turned 50, she just didn’t mind.

At one point in 2017, she told DuJour she was not interested in Botox.  She added that if there was a way you could continue looking good, she’d do it.  She said she loves her husband, François-Henri Pinault], a French businessman. She wants to look lovely when she turns 70 and wants him to see her and think that it’s okay that his girl is older now but there’s still beauty there.

Playing Different Roles Now

She also talked about her newer roles that come with her age.  She loves playing a mother and is actually excited about someday playing a grandmother.  She said there’s nothing more boring than playing that sexy role for the rest of your life.

When she was younger, she was actually borderline chubby because she likes food and likes her wine, according to Harper’s Bazaar. While she is in her 50s, she feels great. She said she’s not like the girl next door, she’s actually quite short and her body is quite wavy. She believes that women should celebrate who they are as individuals. You have to be your own work of art.

Salma is the mother of Valentina, her twelve-year-old daughter. She said she is not the type to surrender when it comes to a challenge.  She had to fight to get the film Frida which addressed dealing with dyslexia and she is not someone who will ever back down.

The worst part of the aging process has been her eyes, not the wrinkles but actually her eyes.  Now she can’t read without using glasses.  She said one aspect of aging, the Fools Rush In actress said she has met her match.

I personally think she’s an incredible role model and more women, as they start to age, can take some valuable advice from her.  It’s a sing of incredible security which, unfortunately, too many people suffer from.  We all age and nothing is ever going to stop it.
