Robbie Williams was a judge on the X-Factor and informed his audience that a new album was on the way. But not everything in his 45 year years was all it was cracked up to be, he suffered from agoraphobia which seriously controlled his life.
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder which leaves someone afraid to be outside and they will avoid places that could lead to panic attacks.
When talking to the Sun, the Angels hit-maker revealed his life had come to a halt and needed to get his equilibrium back. His mind and body prevented him from going anywhere or do anything.
Just Sitting There
He literally just sat around and waited. He talked about the three year battle between 2006 and 2009 not being able to get off his sofa. He spent his time eating chips, growing a beard, and just stayed inside.
After listening to a line in the Killers’ song Human, “sometimes I get scared when I see an open door”, he realized it was time to get back up on this feet and fight back. He said it was very difficult to do, like being in a car accident and having to learn how to walk again.
He said if it wasn’t for his three children, he didn’t know if you could have made it. He did come back and became even stronger.
Even though he and his wife were successful in the X Factor as judges, he decided to go his separate way to work on his own career. He said Simon Cowell did try to talk them into staying but he and his wife just couldn’t make that work, even though he would miss Simon. We wish him all the very best for years to come!
