Married… with Children is television show which aired from 5 April 1987, to 9 June 1997, for a total of 259 episodes spanning eleven seasons. Throughout the show many famous actors and actresses made their mark, some going onto greater success following the conclusion of the show. From cameos to lead-billing, each of them will forever be part of the sitcom’s history.
The show follows the life of Al Bundy who resides in Chicago with his family. Once a glorious high school football player, Bundy is now domesticated, working as a women’s shoe salesman to support his family consisting of his disagreeable wife, Peggy; their pretty and promiscuous yet clueless daughter, Kelly; and their girl-crazy, witty son, Bud.
Most of the show’s storylines involve Al’s schemes being foiled by his own cartoonish dim wit and bad luck. However, as we’ll see being part of the show was anything but unlucky.
Christina Applegate – Then
Christina Applegate was an instrumental part of the core cast, playing Al Bundy’s daughter, Kelly Bundy, in the show. She appears in a total of 256 episodes and plays the part of the stereotypical “dumb blonde” to perfection. “Pumpkin,” as Al called her, was a promiscuous, attractive and curvy girl, who liked to hang out with “slacker” guys, much to her father’s chagrin.
By the final seasons, however, Kelly appeared to have matured into an independent woman with a greater insight and street smarts.
Christina Applegate – Now
Since the 80s and 90s, Christina Applegate’s star has only continued to shine ever brighter. She’s gone onto win an Emmy Award as well as earning Tony and Golden Globe nominations.
