Make Your Own Waffle. When Workers Are Asleep

Every now and then, we need to satisfy our craving for salty foods. And after having a few drinks, it becomes way difficult to hold back.

Alex Bowen, a South Carolina native who happened to be in this situation after a few scoops. As a result, he took off to a branch of Waffle House to treat himself to a tasty southern breakfast.

But as at when he got there, no staff was available to attend to him. One of them was comfortably taking a nap on the side. A lot of people would turn back in disappointment, but Alex didn’t. He leaped over the counter and started cooking up grub for himself.

After a few moments of firing up the grill, Alex’s ‘double Texas bacon cheesesteak melt extra pickles’ was served. He took to Facebook to give himself props for his culinary skills. Regardless of how drunk he was, Alex ensured that he cleaned up the place afterward. He also came back to pay for his meal the following day.

Couldn’t Sleep

Posting photos of himself in the Waffle house’s kitchen on Facebook, he told his friends about his experience: “Couldn’t sleep so I went to waffle house….guess what…everyone on shift was asleep.

Got hot on the grill with a double Texas bacon cheesesteak melt with extra pickles. After I finished with the grill, I cleaned it up, took out my ill-gotten sandwich and ate it up. Alex was thankful for his old friend vodka because, without it, he wouldn’t have such guts.”

He went on to say: “I guess old Waffle House is just gonna have to take the ‘L’ on that one.” Following the incident, an official statement was released by Waffle house. Reaching out to Alex, the local Division Manager apologized for what happened. Frowning at the situation, he said that their customers do not have to get on the grill by themselves for safety reasons.

Instead, they should receive great quality service from its kind employees. They’re currently looking into the matter and would take appropriate measures to ensure that is the last of its kind.

Oops. What an unfortunate night to fall asleep on the job…
