Netflix, Hulu, and the like are about to be left in the dust after Disney+ finally announced their upcoming streaming service. The competition will get much harder as many Disney fans are ready to let go of other subscriptions at the drop of a hat once Disney+ is a go!
Just recently, Disney disclosed that this year, they will release their streaming service. As of November 12, 2019, Disney+ will be available for prices lower than both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video – a mere $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year.
The company has made it so that Disney+ will be available on a variety of screens, just like its competitors. “The Disney+ service will be available on a wide range of mobile and connected devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players, and smart TVs,” they shared in a statement. As a result, Disney+ subscribers have the freedom to watch whatever they want, whenever they want.
The Wonderful World of Disney
For Disney fanatics, Disney+ is literally a dream come true. On it, you will find any possible title you could think of in the company’s catalog – even throwback Disney cartoons, Disney Channel TV shows, Disney’s live-action films, and original movies, from the newest to the oldest.
It will even have Pixar movies and shorts in addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars film and TV series.
One of the biggest treasures the service will hold is all 13 of Disney’s Signature Collection films. Movies like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and more which Disney has kept locked away will now be ready for viewing.
A Special Surprise
Unexpectedly, Disney+ has also partnered with Fox to offer some of their family-friendly movies and shows such as Malcolm in the Middle and the complete collection of The Simpsons! What more could you want?
Alisha Grauso, editorial lead at Atom Tickets, said on Twitter, “Disney+ at $6.99/month and $69.99/year could be a Netflix killer. Or at least seismically shake up the streaming game.”
Disney+ is sure to be a game changer. “Seriously though, #DisneyPlus is cheaper and a better value than all the major movie channels, half the price of HBO, and includes content literally everybody will want,” shared Twitter user @jmatthewlucas.
