5 Facts You Didn’t Know About Blake Lively

Most of us know Blake Lively from her role in Gossip Girl as Serena Van der Woodsen- the girl that has it all. The truth is, in real life, Lively seems to pretty much have it all too! From her loving relationship with equally gorgeous husband Ryan Reynolds, lead roles in blockbusters, glamorous dresses, and two beautiful baby daughters, Lively is certainly living it up. But what don’t you know about this blonde bombshell who tends to like her private life being kept private? Read on to find out!

1. She has never had a drink in her life, but breaks the law in other ways

That’s right, despite playing a wild party girl in films like ‘Savages’ and ‘The Town’ and in Gossip Girl, in real life Lively is not one for drinking and even told ‘Vogue’ that she has never had a drink in her life! However, the talented actress does break the law with substances in other ways… and that is sneaking spices in from other countries! She claims she once found a cooking spice in New Orleans that was not FDA approved and thought about hiding it in her teddy bear to get across customs.

2. Martha Stewart is her idol

Lively has been very vocal about the fact that Martha Stewart is her ‘idol’. She even claimed that Stewart acted as a fairy godmother during her wedding to Reynolds, speaking to Vogue she said:
“Our wedding was becoming a disaster, and we didn’t know what to do, so we called Martha! She said, ‘Don’t worry. I’ll handle it.’ She sent her team down to save us,”

3. Her ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ fans helped her land her role in Gossip Girl

In a show of true fan love, Lively fans began campaigning for her to get the role of Serena van der Woodsen on ‘Gossip Girl’ after falling in love with her performance in ‘Sisterhood’. However, it was not so easy, after the first screen test producers thought she was too ‘Sunny California’ to play an Upper East Side debutante. She straightened her hair for the next screen test and apparently that did the trick! And boy, are we glad.

4. She plays Guitar Hero competitively

This tall willowy blonde goddess is full of surprises. Who would have thought that Lively is a major Guitar Hero enthusiast? She even revealed before she married Reynolds that she was looking for a romantic partner who shared her love for video games.

“If a guy can play Guitar Hero with me and sit at home and watch the Food Network and read magazines with me, that’s good. I don’t think there are many guys that think that’s fun. It’s a lot to ask.”
It was not too much to ask for, and we can only imagine the fun her and Reynolds have staying at home and playing Guitar Hero till dawn (we are also slightly jealous)

5. She started school 3 years early

Not only a pretty face, Lively is blessed with brains, so her mother gave her a jump-start on education enrolling her in the first grade 3 years early. She got away with this since Lively was so tall, she could easily pass for a 6-year-old. The talented actress enjoyed her school career, and before she realized the gift of acting she was blessed with, she always dreamed of studying at Stanford University
